INFINITY 27 | Samara | Firebrand

I had the pleasure of working on this asset for Samsara, a souls-like game developed by INFINITY27, as part of their 3D Art Bootcamp. The challenge was to choose and create a fully realized game asset within an eight-week timeframe, with continued development to integrate it into the game engine.

The cloth component utilizes Unreal Engine’s cloth simulation which was an integral part of the design to feel alive in game. Likewise, the fire VFX was also important to get correct, which took some tweaking in Unreal Engines Niagra particle system. (The still renders vary from the in-game effect)

This project was a fantastic learning experience, and I had a lot of fun bringing the Firebrand to life. I’m excited to take everything I’ve learned forward into future work.
